When Advocacy Earns the Enterprise

Four years on, the lesson still holds.

Back in 2022, as H.O.G. Manila Chapter Director, together with our officers and members, we set out to run the Great Lakes of the Philippines Motorcycle Adventure - not just a ride, but an advocacy for local tourism and the communities that depend on it. What stood out wasn't the route or the bikes. It was watching an enterprise like FastCat (Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corporation) step forward to back it, no shared mission required, just alignment on the same conviction: that tourism moves economies, and economies move people forward.

That's the pattern I've seen hold true across every advocacy I've led, before and since. Enterprises don't sponsor causes out of goodwill alone - they invest where the advocacy is credible, the execution is disciplined, and the outcome serves something larger than the organizers. As chapter director, that credibility was ours to build together and once earned, the partnerships found us.

Grateful to FastCat for seeing it that way then, and to every officer and member of H.O.G. Manila who kept the advocacy honest.

Now, as H.O.G. Philippines Regional Director, the advocacy continues at a wider scale, with more chapters, more communities, and more enterprises choosing to stand behind the same conviction.

Some rides are about the destination. This one was about proving the model.
