Circa 2019. An iconic photo that brings back many meaningful memories.
This was the legendary Chevron Asia Pacific Retail Partnerships Team, a group of passionate professionals working side by side who built and differentiated the non-fuel retail ecosystem and pioneered customer loyalty program partnerships across the region with Robinsons Retail Holdings and Jollibee Food Corporation in the Philippines, Central Group and True Corporation in Thailand, FairPrice in Singapore and Berjaya Corporation of Malaysia.
Behind every successful retail site, loyalty campaign, and customer experience initiative was a team quietly doing the hard work - building partnerships, solving problems, and pushing innovation forward.
What made this team special was not just the projects we delivered, but the values we shared.
Character - doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
Integrity - honoring commitments to partners, customers, and each other.
Grit - pushing through challenges, market shifts, and operational realities to make things happen.
Retail partnerships may happen behind the scenes, but they play a critical role in transforming fuel stations into customer destinations - where convenience, service, and loyalty come together.
More importantly, these partnerships were built on mutually trusting and beneficial relationships, the kind that go beyond transactions and evolve into long-term collaboration.
Looking back, I’m grateful that many of these relationships continue until today, even as my journey has evolved into Technopreneurship - innovating with purpose, AI-driven and ESG-focused.
The platforms and industries may change, but the foundation remains the same: trust, shared value, and meaningful partnerships.
To the colleagues who were part of this journey, thank you for the camaraderie, the lessons, and the memories.
These experiences were part of my school of hard knocks, shaping how I lead and build partnerships today at RXS Meta Group of Companies.
Because in the end, technology may evolve and business models may change but character, integrity, and grit remain timeless.
